The AWC is currently in its founding phase, with work underway through two closely linked initiatives. Project Wightiana — our founding conservation programme — is conducting fieldwork, nursery production, genetics, and ecology research focused on Coffea wightiana at Silence Forest, Auroville, Tamil Nadu. Molecular Coffee, our founding commercial partner, is a post-harvest quality consultancy whose revenue is directly ring-fenced to fund that conservation work. Together they represent a model the AWC intends to grow: conservation that is grounded in place, funded by commerce, and connected through a global network.
